How do Tattooes for Stretch Marks work?

Stretch mark camouflage tattoos work by using inkless medical needling using serums with hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids that are suitable for needling. Performing the treatment with serums allows the vitamins to be deposited deeper in to the skin for better healing.

The precise treatment targets the damaged skin leaving the healthy skin alone. The needling stimulates natural collagen and re pigmentation usually without the need for any further ink. Ink can be added after the stretchmarks have been flattened but is not always necessary after this treatment. It depends on the colour of the skin and stretchamrks.

This process softens the appearance of stretch marks, blending them seamlessly into the surrounding skin. Our skilled paramedical tattoo artists have been trained to colour match pigments perfectly, ensuring a discreet and natural result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can stretch mark camouflage tattooing completely remove the appearance of stretch marks?

Stretch mark camouflage doesn’t remove the stretch marks, but it significantly reduces their visibility. Using carefully colour-matched pigments, the treatment blends stretch marks into the surrounding skin to make them less noticeable. The texture remains, but the colour contrast is softened, helping them look more natural.

How old do my stretch marks need to be before I can have camouflage tattooing?

Your stretch marks must be fully healed and at least 15 months old. They should no longer be red, inflamed, or raised. If your stretch marks are still purple, pink, or newly formed, they are not yet suitable for tattooing and need more time to mature.

Will stretch mark tattooing work on all skin tones?

Yes – stretch mark camouflage can be performed on all skin tones and ethnicities. We take great care to custom-blend pigment that closely matches your natural skin colour, ensuring the most discreet and natural-looking result possible.

How long do the results of stretch mark camouflage last?

Results are long-lasting, but some clients may need a colour refresh every 2–5 years, depending on how their skin holds pigment and whether it is exposed to sunlight or experiences further stretching. Everyone’s skin responds differently, and we’ll advise you on what to expect during your consultation.

How many sessions will I need to camouflage my stretch marks?

Most clients require 2 to 4 sessions, spaced several weeks apart. The number of sessions depends on the severity of the stretch marks, your skin tone, and how well your skin retains pigment. The goal is to build colour gradually for the most natural effect.

Does stretch mark camouflage tattooing hurt?

Clients typically report mild discomfort during the procedure, similar to a scratchy sensation or light sunburn. The level of discomfort depends on the treatment area and your personal sensitivity. Numbing cream can be applied to help manage any discomfort if needed.

Is there any downtime after stretch mark tattooing?

There is minimal downtime. You may experience some redness, slight swelling, or tightness in the treated area for a few days. It’s important to avoid sun exposure, swimming, and intense exercise during the healing period. Full aftercare instructions will be provided.

Can I treat stretch marks on my breasts, thighs, or hips with camouflage tattooing?

Yes – we treat stretch marks on many parts of the body, including the stomach, thighs, hips, breasts, lower back, and buttocks. The size and location of the area will influence the number of sessions needed and the overall cost, which we’ll discuss during your consultation.

Are there any risks or side effects to stretch mark camouflage treatments?

Risks are minimal when performed by a trained professional. Some temporary irritation or sensitivity is normal. We always conduct a patch test before treatment to check for any allergic reaction and ensure your skin is suitable for pigmentation.
