Acne Scar Tattoo

Camouflage tattooing is most effective on flat, pale acne scars. For pitted or indented (atrophic) scars, we may recommend a combination approach, such as medical needling to improve skin texture, followed by pigment camouflage to reduce colour contrast. During your consultation, we’ll assess the best method for your skin.

Yes – provided the acne is no longer active and the scars are fully healed. We do not tattoo over inflamed, cystic, or infected skin. Acne scars must be stable and at least 12–15 months old. For facial treatments, we use gentle techniques and custom pigments to ensure a safe, natural-looking result.

Camouflage tattooing does not erase the scars, but it significantly reduces their visibility by blending their colour into your natural skin tone. The scars may still be felt by touch or visible in certain lighting, but they will be much less obvious to the eye.

Results are long-lasting and can remain visible for several years. However, the face is exposed to sunlight and frequent cleansing, so a colour refresh every 2–3 years may be recommended to maintain the best results.

Yes – we carefully custom-blend pigments to match your unique skin tone, including undertones. Whether your skin is light, olive, medium, or dark, we work to create a seamless blend that softens the contrast between scar and healthy skin.

Facial skin can be sensitive, but most clients describe the sensation as mild to moderately uncomfortable, similar to light scratching. We apply a numbing cream beforehand to make the treatment more comfortable.

Most clients require 2 to 3 sessions, depending on the extent of the scarring, skin type, and how well the skin retains pigment. Sessions are spaced a few weeks apart to allow healing and pigment settling.

The duration varies by area treated, but each session typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours.

You can wear makeup once the treated area has fully healed, usually around 7–10 days post-treatment. During the initial healing phase, it's important to keep the area clean, dry, and free from makeup or harsh products.

In most cases, people will not notice the scars unless they look closely. Our aim is to reduce their visibility to the point that they blend naturally with your skin. Many clients say they feel more confident and no longer feel the need to conceal the scars with makeup.
